An activity I like to do with my students for One Little Word is an acrostic poem. We use the dictionary and thesaurus to find synonyms. While I worked on my own acrostic, I thought about the different ways I want to Cherish. I used Canva to create an image of my poem.

Lovely.
Such a simple poem and yet, so beautiful and touching. I am not usually a fan of acrostic poems, but you have me rethinking my position, friend. Thank you for sharing your poem, perhaps I should create one for RISE. Hmmm…
I love discovering the power of a simple form. Like haiku, it’s all about word choice.
WOW!! You’re inspiring me to try to do this…for myself and with my students. Thanks for sharing this simple brilliance.
As Michelle said, simple but so powerful. And what a beautiful way to discover what a word really means.
I’ve loved reading about other people’s OLW and tweaking some of their ideas to fit my life. My OLW choose.
Reading the posts on Slice of Life is like opening a Christmas or birthday package every week and finding surprises. Your gift today is absolutely gorgeous…from the choice of words, to how you made them work together to express your OLW, to how you so artistically presented your OLW. Your presentation says a lot about you, and your OLW, which will undoubtedly work very well for you this year. (I still have not chosen mine…but love some of yours!)
Love the way you put this together, Margaret.
Margaret, your OLW poster is clear, bright, and full of not only energy but healing for all of us.
A simply peaceful piece.
Picture and words = exquisite piece to cherish! So very nice!
This is so beautiful, Margaret, and these words are perfect for your loving, generous soul.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. I’m sitting at my kitchen table with one child moaning over homework searching for a writing prompt….and this is perfect. This I can do with a thesaurus while supporting my kid!
Warms my heart!
