This garden statue was a gift from a friend for my birthday last year (or the year before?) She is nestled in a space with succulents. This morning there was rain and I was drawn to how she seems to be catching raindrops with her upturned face. Maybe she can inspire a small poem in you today.
Angel
face upturned
glittered with raindrops
holding morning clouds with
Hope
Today I chose to use the elfchen form. The directions for this form:
Consider writing today. Leave a small poem in the comments. Respond to other writers with encouragement.

I love your elfchins, Margaret, and I love that you chose “hope” as your conclusion.
Not an elfchin, but this is what I have today:
Let the rain
kiss my skin
drench the earth
with life
as I hold life
in my arms
Another hopeful poem. I love “kiss my skin”.
Rose, I love all the life in your poem. “drench the earth / with life” and the “life / in my arms” helped me to discover that sweet little bird in her arms.
What a sweet statue in your succulent garden, Margaret. “holding morning clouds with / Hope” is my favorite.
We both look up
and catch watery
pearls in our mouths,
on our faces,
and we are happy.
Pure sweetness, Denise. Glad you found the little bird.
Margaret, your poem and statue are reminders that Northern Va earth is ready to be glittered with raindrops. Your praise poem is a great mentor poem on gratitude.
