I.
Fog lingers with mist–
highway disappears from view:
keep the low lights on.
II.
Black and white spots graze
in fertile flat fields green–
cow-friends meeting.
III.
One road to same sky–
winter trees sleep in bare branches
showing their true selves.
IV.
Turn on a new playlist–
sun illuminates sprouting
swamp grass wildflowers.

Lovely, Margaret. I think my favorite is the second one. Those cows are a nice surprise :).
Surprise where I thought might come off as corny. Just goes to show…put it out there, trust, and see. I may have to remind myself again and again to include some element of surprise. I always enjoy it when I see it in student’s poetry. Thanks for stopping by.
Wonderful! My favorite is the cow friends meeting.
Thanks. It was almost left on the cutting room floor. Glad I kept it.
The second one tickled me as well. I like to think that the cows are friends. =)
I am so pleased and surprised by the response to cow friends. I almost cut it out thinking it sounded so corny. My husband and I talk about dog meetings when we see a group of dogs. Thanks for your response.
The third one might be my favorite, although I do like those cows!
Very nice! I especially liked III. —Clyde
Did you really see swamp wildflowers? Awesome to imagine! These are beautiful.
The goldenrod is already blooming. And the bottom layer of the swamp, the grass, is turning green. Winter is short here. Thanks for stopping by.
