Today the Spiritual Thursday group is writing about Doraine’s word, Shine. Dori is a poet and blogs at Dori Reads. In the spirit of Dori’s poetry, I wrote two haiku inspired by images of light.
The sun
never fails to shine
like my heart that opens to
shine for you.
Shine
The echo of light
calling amidst the darkness
See me.
–Margaret Simon
What beautiful images. I loved the “see me” line.
Beautiful pictures and beautifully written, Margaret!
Love that last one especially.
These shadows shine:
just faint reflections
of what has come to pass.
While others see only the dark outlines,
I see beyond the absence,
listening for echoes of ideas
reverberating.
–Kevin
You honor me with your poem response. Thanks!
Beautiful words accompanied by lovely images! SHINE is clear throughout your post!
Oh wow, that last one, with its unexpected “echo” — so lovely, Margaret! Thank you!
Margaret, the last poem speaks to me of what the light brings to those who seek peace. Have a wonderful day and I hope it is filled with the light from above.
Your words bring hope and love and that “echo” of light and love comes back to you.
I love the last line, “See me”. That’s what we all want, isn’t it – to be seen?! Beautiful images! To answer your question on my post, yes. I’m on spring break, on a 10-day cruise with limited Internet. It’s weird to be so out of touch, and it foiled my March Challenge plans, but it’s also much needed. Happy Easter to you! I doubt I will be able to post any more before we get home.
I’m glad the absence was for such a fun reason! Have a great time!
Beautiful! I especially like that last line. Isn’t that the cry of every heart–see me. I love it.
I struggled with your word. Glad you like the result.
Such poetic words paired with lovely images. Your talents shine and bless us. Thank you.
That is the best message I could have gotten today. Thanks!
These are so beautiful, Margaret. I love these lines: “my heart that opens to/shine for you.”
Margaret, so beautiful! I love the image of “light calling amidst the darkness”
