Our friend Molly loves to rise early and with camera in hand, head to the nearest water source. Morning light illuminated some mysterious bubbles on her recent excursion. I marvel at her photography skills and her ability to see beauty. Let’s take a moment to stand in awe, to see beauty, to feel alive.
Write a small poem in the comments and respond with encouragement to other writers.
Just below surface

mysterious, magical
breath of life bubbles
Enchanting image from Molly and love your connection/observation of the critters below the surface and their “mysterious, magical/
breath of life bubbles” Thanks Margaret!
ethereal worlds
of bubbles ready to break
open and begin

Ahhh!
Ahhh!
that word, ready—sets the whole poem off.
Thanks for this image! Michelle’s and Margaret’s poems are lovely: mysterious and ethereal. Mine, I’m afraid, is rather less so… shall we call it earthy?
Ponds burp
Bubbles pop
Soppy slime
Laughs it off
Fun!
Funny and childlike!
I love how your poem brings attention to the creatures below the surface, Margaret.
The first thing that came to mind for me were planets.
Bubbles on water
Like planets floating through space
A world of wonder
Love the idea of floating planets.
I see it too. The reflection shows rings like a planet and my student pointed out a galaxy.
Marooned in the pond–
alien space ships
or the Jetsons’ flying car?
I guess Rose and I had similar thoughts, but mine on a smaller scale.
Yes! Jetson’s … the idea of it makes my day.
One of my students had the same idea. She said the bubbles looked like UFO babies. Ha!
Love it!
A circle of goodness indeed
A tub full of splashy good clean fun
wands Fool of rainbows dancing in the summer sun
Bubble gum pop pop popping
Fizzy bubbles of soda tickling my nose
Plopping Drops and drips of rain in puddles
Bubbles bubbles and more bubbles please
Bubbles are fun indeed
Poem by Jessica Bigi
So many wonderful sounds: “gum pop popping, fizzy bubbles, plopping drops…”
