Take a walk with me
- across the grass buried in oak pollen, where spring winds have sprinkled twirly birds.
Take a walk with me
- past the grancy graybeard dressed in fuzzy blossoms that light up the sky.
Take a walk with me
- to the bank of the bayou where spiderwort pops out purple.
Take a walk with me
- under the canopy of red buckeye raising fiery red sparklers.
Take a walk with me
- when dog’s meet with nose kisses and neighbors chat about fresh air and good grace, then walk on
Take a walk with me
- with a friend, our dogs (Lucy and Charlie), full of laughter and joy.
Take a walk with me.
This would be a great mentor text for students to write descriptions of their environments–I love it, and the beautiful images you chose as well!
Oh, what a beautiful use of pictures and words side by side!
I would love to take a walk with you and enjoy those lovely spring images!!
This reminds me of Robert Frost’s “The Pasture.” “I shan’t be gone long. You come too.” Thanks for the invitation to walk. I loved the images in words and pictures.
Beautiful! I love the way you added to your lovely poem with the beautiful photos. I think I will take a walk!
What a lovely setting for spring break. You paint a beautiful picture with photos and words. I want to come and take a walk with you. Even though I feel through your poem that I already have.
Margaret, I am also interested in finding out more about the Spiritual Writing you do on Thursdays. Would you be interested in sharing this with me. Part of my path for writing has been around spiritual writing. I have actually named it Spiritual Writing: From the Path to the Page. I have explored some of this this month at TWT but want to expand this and am thinking that the Thursday blogging might be a way to start. Your input here would be helpful. If you are willing to share, we can figure out a way that I can send you my email. Thanks.
I loved this post– you created such beautiful imagery created with your words, accompanied with the beautiful physical imagery of springtime.
Ah, spring has sprung in Louisiana. I can visualize the walk and what you see. I walked home from PT today and I have to say that I thought that the neighborhood would need to get dressed up for spring which has not sprung. I can enjoy your glorious day.
Oh, I did enjoy the blossoms on this walk.
Love seeing all of the flowers, Margaret. It’s so beautiful there. Love that spiderwort and red buckeye! Thanks for this spring walk!
I had to send a pic to a naturalist friend to find out the name of the red buckeye. Now I want to plant one in my yard. Gorgeous!
Oh, I love the repetition and the walk into nature and the wild flower names! Love how the prepositional phrases at the start of each line moved us along the path too.
I would enjoy walking in your environment. There seems to be so much beauty around you!
I would love nothing more than to take that walk with you, Margaret! Everything looks so beautiful.
I have room. Come visit!
Your part of the world is so different than mine so I really enjoy visiting you here and learning a little more about it. I always love how your words enhance your images.
Thanks, you should come visit someday.
