Irene Latham is one of my very favorite Poetry Friday bloggers. She’s also an awesome author and sweet writing friend. She is having a “blogiversary” celebration rounding up blog posts for her 10 year blog anniversary on the theme of WILD! How wild is that?!
When you get a wild hair about something, you go off into new territory. Live outside the box, so to speak. The urban dictionary defines a wild hair as a decision to do something unexpected.
Wild Hair
Give me wild hair today,
the kind that waves at everyone,
happy to be alive
and free.Give me wild hair today,
remind me to reach for the sky,
grateful for the curls,
ready to be me.–Margaret Simon

Green suits you, Margaret!
Love that you took a ‘wild hair’ & made it work, Margaret. fun!
What a fun idea. And green’s my favorite color! 🙂
Oh, Margaret, that wig!!! What fun, my sweet wild friend! I love your poem, especially with the Anais Nin quote. Here’s to you being YOU. Thank you!!! xo
Love the picture and the green hair! My hair is wild everyday and most days I am not “grateful for the curls!”
This is simply fabulous! Man, you’re fun. Great poem, wig, and quote. We should get Irene a wig too! xx
Love your wild hair, the troll doll, the quote, and the poem. Especially those final words . . . “ready to be me.”
Now that is a wild hair photo, Margaret. You have the best costumes. The poem honors the words wild and reach. Can I venture to say that we are going to have a wild time in Minneapolis and we will reach for the sky.
I love it!
You’re a hoot, Margaret! You took “wild” in a fun direction 🙂
Oh, yay! Margaret.
I let out a little “yippee!”
The troll doll, which I hadn’t seen in ages, your perfect poem, your perfectly expressive wild hair.
Just wild about everything here.
