When I am in need of inspiration, I take a break and check my social media feeds. Maybe this is really just distraction, but today I followed the yellow brick road to a poem from posts on Instagram.

Rainbows over Bonne Terre farm in Breaux Bridge posted by my friend Jen. Click to visit her B&B page.
Ominous sky,
Rain,
Tall cane,
Summer day.Fat caterpillar
crawling up
Up,
Up.The one
I’m always becoming
has caught me
again and again.*A surprise
around every corner.
A rainbow
named Sparkle,
Endless
fascination
inside
a life.I can’t wait
to bloom.–Margaret Simon

Your poem has bloomed. Lovely summer interlude.
Nice! I love you! Wishing you a great day tomorrow. Xoxox Jen

Wonderful idea to “look” to words from friends and gather them like summer flowers.
Love those last lines to finish up the poem, Margaret – I felt as though I was on a journey of thought with you.
Awesome! Who says social media is a waste of time?! Thinking about how happy your students will be to see you again.
Photos and other images are great sources of inspiration! As Tara said, those last lines are wonderful. Thinking of you as you launch another year nurturing your students into bloom!
Inspiration is all around, isn’t it?? Nicely done, Margaret!
You are always becoming through the rainbows and the storms, always growing. Thank you for your beautiful words and thoughts.
I intend to use my photos for more frequent poetry writing. You inspire me with these! (Good use of social media browsing!!)
A beautiful pairing of words and image.
I love the short one word lines. Such an inspirational pairing of image and words. Thanks, Margaret!
Lovely! And I know you and your fortunate students will all be blooming this year.
love! I am looking for inspiration for this Friday’s #PoetryFriday….and I came here 😉
You are ahead of the game. I usually look for inspiration on Thursday night.
