light the lanterns
darkness is trying to win
solstice seeks solace–Margaret Simon
Mary Lee Hahn calls us poet/bloggers to write a haiku-a-day in December. #haikuforhealing
For my first haiku, I stole Mary Lee’s last line. Would someone like to steal my last line and make a new haiku?
Yes! I will take your last line with thanks. Putting my haiku up now.
Love it!
Sharing lines is a great idea, Margaret! I’m participating this month too. 🙂
Margaret, your haiku is an inspiration to me to find the solace needed amidst the hustle and bustle. Since I wrote a poem for Michelle’s challenge called “Place of Solace”, I will combine my photos of the beach with your last line to see what I come up with. Thank you for the offer.
Love what you’ve done with Mary Lee’s line and the orange peel lantern.
I love the photo, it looks like a satsuma.
Yes, it is! My daughter’s boyfriend made it from a satsuma peel. Cool.
What a fantastic line to kickstart other haiku!

Thanks for adding your voice. Love strikes a spark. And so does poetry.
