Welcome to Day One of National Poetry Month. Happy Easter! I am writing ekphrastic poetry this month, that is, poetry about art. The artists featured this month have all given permission for me to use their work.
Looking into the mirror,
can I define perfection
as a glass mosaic
arranged without cuts or cracks?
Is this how God sees us?
Beauty reflecting beauty?

Beautiful photo. Beautiful poem. I’m so looking forward to enjoying your poetry on a daily basis this month!
I’ll think of your poem every time I see a duck and its reflection in the water. 🙂
Reflection of duck in water, reflection in the poem — love how words and picture MIRROR each other!
These lines “Is this how God sees us?/Beauty reflecting beauty?” make me think again (like yesterday) about my relationship with God. And the way the last line is its own mirror – how that matches the image you’ve chosen – this is striking.
Great start to the month, Margaret!

Well done!
Lovely poem Margaret, “Beauty reflecting beauty?” yes and the image of the duck is perfection, thanks!
I am loving the “duck crush” and your beauty reflecting beauty. Thank you! xo
