Is it always the right time for reflection? The newness of the year has passed. In my spiritual life, it’s Lent which is a time of reflection. And the season is changing. But really, reflection should be an ongoing practice. Taking a look at what was in order to prepare for what is to come.
Reflection in a photograph is different. In a way this sort of reflection shows what is in a different light, new position. You criss.

I cross,
and together,
we bridge.
Love your poem, Margaret! Perfection in just a few words!
This is indeed a season of reflection with a lot of criss-cross happening as we enter the spring and Easter seasons that bring so my hope amidst a world in so much despair. Loved your image of hope.
ooooooh….I have six minutes before jumping in the car. This is worth being late for 🙂
world’s corset
has come loose.
ties dissolved
and left
in the dirt
I wait
for the sun
no time to comment….will later after school. LOVE this pic!
Your poem is so timely, Linda! The world’s corset has come loose in many ways. Hope you weren’t late!
A great response in your rush. “World’s corset” is such an interesting concept.
Waiting for our corset to pull itself out of the dirt, a wonderful poem, Linda, I await that sunshine that seems to have just gone far far away right now.
Your poem is so positive, Margaret, and this photo is so intriguing, especially paired with the word reflection.
under the grit
lies the essence of what we are –
crisscrossing paths
of turmoil and celebration
worry and wonder
life and love
a bridge to forever
I love how you identified the opposites that we deal with daily.
Nice beginning…under the grit. I can feel that.
I know that we have to accept the grit, accept that we need to make our world cleaner, and know that we need to make connections with each other that are strong and clear and powerful. Thanks, Rose, your poem pointed me in the direction of caring and help.
Love this! I use photography and poetry a lot. I’m going to take a look at my stash and let the words flow. Just beautiful, Margaret! BTW – I also loved Illuminate. What a wonderful project for you and your dad.
So lovely–both the photo and the poem. I love to think about how crissing and crossing can become a bridge!
Just came back to see your poem…how lovely and inclusive and kind…so like you!
Sent me into a deeper pondering this time. Was traveling. Here’s draft, not sure where this may go. Thank you Margaret.
Reflections
Look deeply
into the foggy waters

There’s a curtain
you must open.
Peer inside.
Take your time.

I feel like I have a foggy misty brain these days. I’m hoping focus comes soon. I wish we could change it all for good. What a different world it would be.
Margaret,
I love how your poem shows us that differences do not separate us. We are free to be who we are but if we just cross, we can form a strong bridge of togetherness. Lovely.
