I’m excited to hear from Tabatha that Imperfect II is almost here. I have a few small poems included. The anthology is ready for pre-order here. The blog for this book is here.
My blog is featured on Twinkl as a Top 10+ poetry blog for children.
The Kidlit Progressive Poem begins on April 1st. The schedule is ready to go. Irene Latham starts us off. I can’t wait!
I won a copy of Amy Ludwig VanDerwater’s new book If This Bird Had Pockets, released March 1st. Amy is one of my favorite poets and people. Her poetry makes me smile. It’s accessible to children and is just plain fun!
Many poets take on a poem-a-day project during National Poetry Month. I haven’t decided yet if I am creating one or just following along with someone else. What are your plans for celebrating National Poetry Month?
I love all of this Margaret! I can’t wait to see Amy’s book. And I was so happy to see you on the blog list! Congratulations.
Eeep! Progressive Poem begins next Friday. (reminder to myself!!) What a lovely roundup of poetry blogs on Twinkl… and that cover is SO COOL. Congratulations to all the contributors and so many thanks to Tab for her important work. xo
Ah Margaret your post is blooming with poetry goodness and enchantment! I’m looking forward to reading Amy’s “If This Bird Had Pockets, and Tabatha’s “Imperfect II, which I have a poem in also. I’m working on a bird poetry book which I’ll continue writing poems for during Poetry Month. I’m also sharing a book review for David Elliott’s rich new book “At the Pond” for a Poetry Friday Post, on Friday April 22nd which is also Earth Day!
So many congratulations, Margartet…on everything! Your contributions are generous and thoughtful, and your students are darn lucky to have such a mentor. I believe that there could never be enough poems about “imperfection.” I was happy you won the book and glad you like it! Happy National Poetry month, with all of the surprises it will surely bring. xo
Congrats for the feature on Sparkle!!! Just took a peek there, and what wonderful and familiar company you’re with!
Lots of wonderful news today, Margaret. Congratulations for being on that list with some other poetry Friday friends & for being in Tabatha’s new anthology. I’m looking forward to April!
Margaret, thank you for the reminder of all the wonderful resources and things to look forward to for NPM. I’m jumping in with a little something each day, poems that I’m writing and poems from various poetry partners – including 3 30-something young men who have accepted my invitation to dip their toes into poetry! Stay tuned!
I participated in a KSLA webinar about a week ago led by the fabulously fabulous Amy Ludwig Vanderwater. I did purchase If This Bird Had Pockets and love it! I also purchased a copy for two friends who are still in the classroom. I will look for Imperfect II poems about perspective. Thank you!
oooh! I love seeing Imperfect II in your hand. That reminds to hustle over to amazon and pre-order. Thanks!
I have Amy’s book on my wish list–guess I better get it ordered!
Congrats om your blog award! And thanks for so many recommendations.
So much good poetry news! I took last year off from writing a poem a day in April. Haven’t decided yet if I’m going to try the challenge again this year and if so what my project will be. Though I definitely know I need a project–some kind of constraint. I’ll be looking around to see whose ideas I might be able to “borrow” for a tag along.
Thanks for the GOOD news!
National Poetry Month is so exciting! I am very ready for the Progressive Poem 🙂 Thanks so much for being a part of IMPERFECT II — I saw it is a “hot new release” on Amazon. I hope readers find it useful and engaging 🤞
Hurray! Hurray! For being back, for wonderful new poetry books, for National Poetry Month. I’m looking forward to spending more time with poetry friends.
There is so much exciting developing! I’m joining Mary Lee with my own response to ALL WE CAN SAVE. Can’t know if I’ll write daily until I do!
And thanks for organizing the ProgPo!
Margaret, this Poetry Friday post is full of news and fun. Congratulations on the Twinkl honor, for being published in Imperfect II, and looking forward to the progressive poem and writing poems in April with you.
A round-up of wonderful news! I’m looking forward to reading the progressive poem and happy to have a poem featured in Imperfect II alongside you and the other talented poets!
