Waking up this early Thursday I didn’t know what I should write. Daily slicing is a good discipline, but I am not as motivated this year as I remember being in the past. Who knows why. Thank goodness this is a community full of ideas for writing, so after reading Elisabeth’s post which was inspired by Hannah, I decided to do Three Things I’m Thankful for Thursday.
- French Press Coffee: I needed a new coffee routine because my Keurig has been acting up, so I bought a French Press. Now I grind beans, heat water, pour over, press and create a fresh cup of coffee for my morning latté. Always frothed oak milk and a pottery mug!
2. Flowers on my morning walk: Azaleas are blooming. A sure sign of spring!
3. Sisters Text: Almost every day my three daughters and I exchange a text in a group. Last night we were talking about the upcoming wedding of my niece, their cousin. My youngest daughter was having dinner with my grandson, her nephew and sent this photo.
I love this idea. I have an adventured planned for today as we are on spring break. I’m hoping to find a slice there. If not I may use this structure. I could always use it on one of the next Thursdays though. Family text groups are the best. Thanks for sharing
Your post came at a perfect time, when I needed a reminder of thankfulness. And though it may be a “small” thing, your beautiful mug reminded me that my morning coffee in a beautiful mug is a transitional time, with a lovely “transitional object” for which to be thankful and grateful.
I love the idea of a transitional object. We bought this mug on our family vacation at Christmas so it has added joy in the memory of that trip.
Your gratitude list makes me smile. So much goodness. Your post is the third one I saw today and decided that Thankful Thursday would be my slice too.
Glad I inspired you to do the thankful Thursday as well! I am definitely thankful for coffee and nature 🙂
Glad to have inspired! How nice to have great support at work and you know I love kitties too 🙂
Sorry it posted more than once (I was trying to comment on someone else the second time)
Stealing this format!
What I noticed about your list is that if focuses on experiences, not expensive consumer items.
Now I need an inspiration like this for Friday! (Something with alliteration–Four ____ ______ Friday) Maybe funny as one of the words?
Funny finds?
I like it! 😉
Four funny finds sounds like a great prompt!
Margaret, what precious things you have to be thankful for today. I love love Martha’s photo and comment. So sweet and funny.
I am thankful for my morning tea latte, usually made with almond milk (or whatever plant milk is in the fridge.) Have you used your French press to froth the milk? It works better than a frother.
And I meant to say, azaleas became my favorite sign of spring during college. Cal State, Long Beach has hundreds of azalea bushes. I loved them so much those years.
How do you froth milk in a French press?
Love this format and your list.
This is a great form to use any time but the best part of your slice is seeing your little grandson. I enjoy watching my grandgirls talk to me from their dinner table
