Slice of Life #12
We are a household of cats
refugee cats
cats rescued from car tracks
and kids’ antics.
Here’s Sammy, three legs, one eye
hanging out in his “office” space,
in a cabinet not used for food.
My husband calls it the Japanese apartment.
And then there’s Buzz.
(Say Buzz in a deep voice cause Buzz is Big!)
Buzz hangs out in small spaces, curling over his big belly body,
in planters
and even in my favorite serving bowl.
Then there’s Bill
(say Bill in a high-pitched voice because he has a high-pitched voice.)
Bill will sleep on anything soft,
moving blankets, grocery bags, and a fresh pile of laundry.
Our cats have all come to a better place, heaven on the bayou,
a soft place to land.

How wonderful and joyous to reflect on your cats in this way. I love how you wrote “say buzz in a deep voice” I actually went back and did that. Very funny.
I love cats! Thanks for sharing the quick glimpse of each. They have that look of what do you want? Don’t bother me.
Thank you for sharing the comments with the pictures to give us the personality of each cat. I did say Buzz low in my mind…and Bill high pitched! Love their different personalities depicted in their preferential sleeping places.
Love the pictures interspersed throughout the words. Your words really paint them as exactly who they are!
Cats find the most peculiar places to curl up! I love it!
A soft place to land! Love it!
Thanks, Maya. Once again we are thinking alike with our photo journals.
Wow! I love this poem, and the cats too!

What sweeties. Thank you for including the pictures and the pitches in which to say their names. Love Buzz and his bowl sitting. 😉
